Another figure drawing. This was a little rushed since I got there late and the model had to leave early. Thanks go to the model, though I am incompetent at remembering names, you will have to forgive me.

1 hour, 11x14 paper, some markers and a blue Pilot ballpoint

what a beautiful drawing.sorry i don't have anything constructive say besides i really like this one, the blue color makes it more interesting than portraits most of the time are.

This blue is reminiscent of very shallow water of a carribean beach I once saw. It makes me joyous (I'm not sure if that was the point behind the drawing, judging by the titel...but it makes me happier than a sponge to see that blue.) Mrowr. ((^._.^))

her facial expression is perfect. Its so serine and peaceful, but she also looks to be in deep thought, somehwere completely different.

her hair is stylized very well. And roses... mmmmmm. your roses and flowers just make me so happy.

the only thing i can critique is around the area of the hand and thighs the shading and shapes seem below your regular quality standards. However you are excused because you already specidied that it was rushed. still fave-worthy.

[link] I love these so much

how much do you guys pay your nude models? At UVSC the regular, clothed models make something like 10 an hour, and theres practically no restriction on who can do it, you just have to sign up.

The model actually had her face turned away from me, I totally made up the face. I was definately a little unhappy with how her arm came out from the elbow down. Still good practice though, speed drawing.

It is the drawing group at the Springville Art Museum. Everyone chips in $5 to pay the model, I always tip. So I would say the model end up making about $20 an hour.

i like the way you always leave sort of this reflected light. you have a strong dark out line but leave just a little strip unshaded right next to it. for some reason that juxtaposition always keeps me very intrigued. Its more evident in this piece then in others.

nude models should make a pretty penny i think
